Application of compressors in refrigeration equipment
Oct 30, 2024
Classification of compressor types:
At present, household refrigerator and air conditioner compressors are all positive displacement refrigeration compressors, which can be divided into reciprocating compressors and rotary compressors. Reciprocating compressors use pistons, cranks, connecting rod mechanisms or pistons, cranks, and sliding tube mechanisms, while rotary compressors use rotating shaft crank mechanisms.
According to the scope of application, they can be divided into low back pressure, medium back pressure, and high back pressure compressors.
Low back pressure compressors (evaporation temperature -35~-15℃) are generally used in household refrigerators, food freezers, etc.
Medium back pressure compressors (evaporation temperature -20~0℃) are generally used in cold drink cabinets, milk refrigerators, etc.
High back pressure compressors (evaporation temperature -5~15℃) are generally used in room air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, etc.
Application of compressors:
Piston compressors are the oldest and are used in many places such as cold storage, central air conditioning units, and small piston compressors are used in refrigerators and air conditioners.
Rotary compressors are mainly used in small refrigerators and air conditioners, commercial refrigeration units and car air conditioners.
Scroll compressors are mainly used in small and medium-sized air conditioners and refrigeration units.
Screw compressors have a relatively large cooling capacity and are mostly used in cold storage and chillers.
Centrifugal compressors have a larger cooling capacity. They are generally used in chillers.
There are also lithium bromide absorption chillers, which are mainly used in chillers.
